In this class, we’ll explore ways to move the music from the head to the ear and the heart, drawing on ear training, number systems, and the teachings of great jazz mentors, including Barry Harris. You’ll learn how to feel, memorize, and simplify tunes, melodies, and chord changes in a more natural way, helping you connect more deeply with the language of the masters. (All Levels)

How To Learn Tunes So You Won’t Forget Them
| Kam Markworth

Learning tunes can feel like memorizing one song at a time, but many jazz standards are built from common forms and harmonic patterns. In this class, we’ll explore how to recognize and hear those patterns so you can get off the page and feel more confident inside the music. These tools will help with memorization, soloing, and comping for rhythm section players. (All Levels)
